Why Join?

Becoming a member of the Mount Prospect Historical Society is a simple way to connect with your community while helping preserve its story for future generations. Your support makes a real impact—and along the way, you’ll enjoy meaningful experiences, special opportunities, and a deeper connection to the place you call home.

Help Preserve Our Community

Becoming a member is a great way to solidify your place in our community’s history and be part of something meaningful for future generations. Even if you’re not able to volunteer your time, your membership shows your support and keeps you involved in the work of preserving Mount Prospect’s history. Through exclusive updates like our newsletter and annual meeting, members remain part of an ongoing story—helping ensure that local history continues to be shared, celebrated, and remembered.

Explore Museums Nationwide

As a member of the Mount Prospect Historical Society, you also gain access to the Time Travelers program, a nationwide network of more than 400 participating museums, historical sites, and cultural organizations. This benefit allows you to enjoy free or discounted admission when you visit partner locations across the country, making it easier to explore new places while staying connected to history wherever you go. Whether you’re traveling near or far, Time Travelers adds extra value to your membership by extending your experience beyond Mount Prospect and into communities nationwide that share a commitment to preserving and celebrating history. Click here for a downloadable list.

Get Exclusive Perks

In addition to the Time Travelers Network, members receive a set of meaningful perks that enhance their experience with the Historical Society throughout the year. Membership includes discounts on select programs and events – now including all of our summer kids’ programming – and savings in the museum store. Members also receive our newsletter and an invitation to the annual meeting, keeping them informed and connected to what’s happening behind the scenes. These perks are our way of saying thank you while keeping members closely connected to the work they help make possible. Click here to see the full list tiers and benefits of membership.

New Membership Experience

We’ve recently moved our membership and donation setup to a new platform called Zeffy, which helps us better manage memberships and streamline our online forms. For most members, the process will feel very similar, but you may notice a new look when renewing, joining, or making a donation. Your membership benefits and support for the Historical Society remain exactly the same—this change is simply behind-the-scenes to help us serve you more efficiently. If you experience any issues or have questions about your membership, please reach out through our website contact form or email us info@mtphistory.org and we’ll be happy to help.
