Holiday Housewalk

The Mount Prospect Historical Society’s Holiday Housewalk is an annual event held in December inviting the public to tour beautifully decorated private homes during the holiday season.  Each year, a different Mount Prospect neighborhood is showcased.  Proceeds support our educational programs and help maintain our historic house museum.
The First housewalk was in 1987, brainchild of volunteer Jean Murphy, who had worked for a stint at the Frank Lloyd Wright Museum.  She saw the reception of their event and how much people enjoyed touring the houses that they otherwise would not get to view, and she thought it would be a great way to help showcase the history of Mount Prospect.  The event certainly took off in the community, and it is now regarded as the largest fundraiser of the year for the historical society.

Join us on Friday, December 4th, 2026 for the 38th Annual Holiday Housewalk.
