Membership

Membership Levels and Benefits

Mount Prospect has a unique and interesting, multi-layered history that the Society constantly works to unearth and preserve. Your membership allows us to continue this mission by preserving bits and pieces of current local life and digging deep to find stories of people and places long gone. Thank you for your interest and assistance!

Members Circle

  • Senior/Student – $20, Single – $25, Family – $30

             Members Circle benefits:
                  – Free admission to Society museums (DFH, Schoolhouse, Blacksmith Shop and Education Center)
                  – Discount admission on specified paid events subject to policy
                  – Newsletter
                  – Membership in Time Travelers program which gives free admission, discounts and/or benefits to over 400 museums nationwide (for a list of museums, visit HERE)

Contributors Circle

  • Supporter – $75/year

          Members Circle benefits, plus…
                 – Choice of one item from a specified selection of MPHS store goods (first year of membership)
                 – 10% discount on selected museum store purchases

  • Benefactor – $150/year

          Members Circle benefits plus…
                – 15% discount on selected museum store purchases
                – One Holiday Housewalk admission

  • Patron – $250/year

         Members Circle benefits, plus…
               – 15% discount and free domestic shipping on selected museum store purchases
               – Two Holiday Housewalk admissions

  • Life Membership – a single membership gift of $1,000 or more

         Members Circle benefits, plus… 
              – Four Holiday Housewalk tickets in first year of donation
              – Recognition at annual meeting and on website
              – 20% discount on selected museum store purchases
              – May host one event in the Central Schoolhouse (subject to use policy and availability)
              – No need to renew your annual membership

Founders Circle

Available in any given year to members, who have already achieved Life Membership, in recognition of additional annual membership renewal gifts of $1,000+
             – Four Holiday Housewalk admissions in year of additional gift of $1,000
             – One-time custom history of your home or business premises in Mount Prospect
             – Recognition at annual meeting and on website

Business Circle

  • Business Friend – $25/year
        – Annual sticker to place in window of business

 

Membership renewals will occur on the anniversary date of original membership.  Membership is separate and distinct from operating and/or capital fund donations.  Mount Prospect Historical Society is a 501(c)(3) organization, and contributions are tax deductible to the full extent of the law.

The Mount Prospect Historical Society is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that is committed to preserving the history of Mount Prospect, IL, through artifacts, photographs and both oral and written memories of current and former residents and businesspeople.  On its campus in the heart of the Village, the Society maintains the 1906 Dietrich Friedrichs house museum, the ADA-accessible Dolores Haugh Education Center and the 1896 one-room Central School, which was moved to the museum campus in 2008, renovated and opened to the public in 2017, the 100-year anniversary of the Village.
