Online Resource

Welcome to the Mount Prospect History Online Resource page. This section of our site is meant to make history available to members of the public.

This page started as a collaborative project by the Mount Prospect Historical Society and the Public Library, made possible through funding from the Illinois State Museum and the Illinois Department of Natural Resources.

During that time, this web site and the content in it was written and designed by Gavin W. Kleespies, former Executive Director of the Mount Prospect Historical Society. Technical support was provided by Tim Loga of the Mount Prospect Public Library and research and content assistance was provided by Chris Radek, Stephanie Lamberg, Christine Kim, Alexandra Hunter, Bethanne Wilson, Anne Shaughnessy, and William Holderfield.

Currently, resources are updated by the Mount Prospect Historical Society staff.

Please read our research policy here.

I went to Central Junior High, once located at Central and Main Street, for 6th, 7th and 8th Grade, 1961-64. (Maybe 5th grade, too, 1960-61.)

Are there any photographs from back then?…I’m trying to see what happened to some favorite teachers, and if there are any yearbooks from that time.

I’m 71 now, and would really appreciate any help you could provide, as well as where else I could do a search.

I am looking for a newspaper article about the death of Joseph Davis in a mining accident on 09/18/1907
