SUMMARY:Cemetery Walk at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery
DESCRIPTION:Stroll Among the Spirits of Mount Prospect’s Past\nThe Mount Prospect Historical Society is resurrecting its popular Cemetery Walk at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery\, 101 N. Elmhurst Avenue\, just north of the Mount Prospect post office\, on Sunday\, October 12. This will be the first time it has been presented since 2017. \nThe walk will feature local residents dressed up as specific men and women from Mount Prospect history who helped shape the community into the place it is today.  In all\, about 11 historic figures will be portrayed\, standing next to their characters’ graves\, from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. \nAs visitors walk through\, the actors will talk about the people they are portraying and will converse with visitors\, all in character. \nMayor Paul Hoefert will portray Henry W. Friedrichs\, owner of the funeral home\, for instance\, while Village Clerk Karen Agoranos will play Ella Seegers Wille and former Mayor Arlene Juracek will transform into Irene Haberkamp of the Haberkamp Flowers family. \nCemetery visitors that day will also enjoy meeting Wilhelm Wille\, John Phillip Moehling\, Edwin Busse\, Herman Meyn\, Edwin Haberkamp\, William Kirchhoff\, Fred Meeske\, PFC Elmer Piepenbrink\, Henry Oehlerking and Frank Biermann. \nThe Cemetery Walk\, which is sponsored by Friedrichs Funeral Home\, is modeled after a similar\, very popular event held annually in Elgin. \nAdmission is $15 per person (over age 13) at the gate or $10 per person (over age 13) in advance at www.mtphist.org.  All proceeds will benefit the Society’s operating fund.
