The Mount Prospect Historical Society is an independent, privately funded organization. As a result, we face challenges in meeting our budget year in and year out, with the current economic turbulence as an added trial. Supporting the work of the Mount Prospect Historical Society is easy, and there are multiple ways to help.
How Can I Help?
There are many different ways to contribute to the Mount Prospect Historical Society’s operating fund. This allows us to continue our many exhibits, programs, presentations and publications that we offer year round in accordance with our mission of sharing the history of the community of Mount Prospect and the surrounding areas.
General monetary donations are extremely valuable to the Society. As we essentially operate on a “pay-as-you-go” basis, unrestricted monetary donations are able to keep us on our toes as unexpected occurrences come up. As we are a registered 501 (c)3 charitable organizations, all monetary donations are, of course, tax-deductible.
DONATE TO THE CENTRAL SCHOOL
Please consider a donation to the Mount Prospect Historical Society’s Central School Campaign. Your continued generosity allowed us to save this wonderful building, and we hope to have the building opened to the public as soon as possible. We have streamlined the donation process with the help of Paypal. If you wish to mail a contribution, please remit to us at:

As the Mount Prospect Historical Society is a registered, 501c(3) not-for-profit charitable organization, your contribution may be fully tax-deductible as allowed by current tax statute.
For more information on donor acknowledgements, or to discuss in-kind or material donations, please contact us.
We exist to tell the stories of our community. This is especially true when it comes to the stories of our departed loved ones. Memorials to the Historical Society are gratefully accepted, and can be implemented in accordance with specific wishes of the deceased and their family.
CROSS ITEMS OFF OF OUR “WISH LIST”
In addition to offering programs and fundraisers, the Society also faces the large expense of staffing and supplying an office and maintaining three separate buildings and landscaped areas on our museum campus. Donations of office supplies, services, and resources are always welcome and help ease our financial burdens. Any of these can also be underwritten by general monetary donations. Please view our “wish list” below for specific ways you can help.
